Oldenburg Horse Breeding Association

The Oldenburg Horse Breeding Association is actively committed to promoting knowledge and transparency in horse breeding. Therefore, the association has been active for years in application-oriented research in collaboration with partners from science and industry. To this end, a study is currently underway around the appearance of Muscle Integrity Myopathy. The licensed genetic test for MIM ("PSSM2") is available to members of the Oldenburg Verband and within the entire International Association of Future Horse Breeding (IAFH) consortium at discounted rates. University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine Leatherdale Equine Center

The University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine Leatherdale Equine Center is running a large-scale study gathering data (including a detailed survey, photos, videos) and DNA samples from symptomatic and normal horses. Owners anywhere in the world can enroll their horses and contribute to the research project. Participation is encouraged whether the horse has been tested in a commercial laboratory or not.
