Test for Muscle Integrity Myopathy (formerly known as "PSSM2")
There are now DNA tests for six variants associated with the development of symptoms on muscle integrity myopathy (PSSM2) in horses. In Europe, generatio is the only laboratory that performs the Muscle Integrity Myopathy (formerly known as "PSSM2") test.
The test can be done using hair roots (pulled out hairs from the tail or mane) or EDTA blood (collection and dispatch only possible by a veterinarian).
The prices for our MIM 6-Variants-Test tests can be seen in the shop. Choose between:
- MIM 6-Variants for all horse breeds except Icelandic horse
- MIM 6-Variants Express Test with results within 4 working days after sample registration
- MIM-3-Variants Icelandic Horse: In this breed only P3, P8 and K1 have been found to date
- MIM Extension P8/K1: If your horse was tested for the then known MIM-Variants (PSSM2) before December 2020 (P2, P3, P4, Px), you can test P8 and K1 by emailing support@generatio.com
