Generatio helps you ensure the genetic health and learn about the genetic traits of your animal.

Whether for private health check, to meet the requirements for a breeding license, or to learn about your animal’s genetic traits, you can choose specific tests or order our suggested packages. 

Tests can be ordered in our Webshop or for registered users in the Animal Trust Center.

To perform a genetic test, we need a sample from your animal which we can extract DNA. This is usually blood, hair roots, cheek swabs or semen but other sample types can be processed upon request. Please refer to our instructions for sample collection.

Some dog breed clubs have specialized DNA Programmes at generatio, where our protocols and technologies are used to ensure the identity and parentage of pups from that breed. Generatio therefore offers breeders or pet owners the unique opportunity to use the samples that have been archived by the breed club at puppy registration. The use of these archived samples can be requested by filling out a simple form. 

Additionally, all customers have the possibility to re-use previously submitted samples for further tests. New tests can be ordered through the Animal Trust Center animal file without having to submit a new sample.

At generatio, results are sent by email as electronically signed certificates, and all results are also stored in the online Animal file in the Animal Trust Center and can be retrieved at any time. 

All testing information and results are held under strict data security policies. Breed clubs can establish special DNA Programmes allow breeders and owners to share animal files and results with them.  When an animal changes ownership it is also possible to transfer ownership of the animal record following specific protocols.

Our free Sign Check service allows certificates to be checked for authenticity. All pdf certificates are signed electronically; if the certificate is tampered with, the security mechanism is destroyed. The Sign Check service can be used to check whether the signature of an ATC certificate is intact.
