Which material do I need for the test on my animal?

Different sample materials are preferred depending on the species of your animal. Generally, GOcards are the method of choice for dogs, although buccal swabs or EDTA blood can also be accepted. Most horse owners send hair samples, although EDTA blood or other samples can also be sent. Detailed information can be found here: Sample collection

Please send only one sample material, for example a hair sample OR EDTA blood. The genetic information is the same. If EDTA blood is sent, you will generally need a veterinarian to collect the blood, and there is also a small fee to archive the sample.

Please ensure that you contact your breed club to see if they have requirements about the type of sample you send and if the identity of the animal needs to be verified.
